Waves of Thoughts

Every year, at the beginning of each season, I create a bucket list. And every year, there is always one thing that never gets crossed: visit a pumpkin patch during fall.

This year was, however, different. Exactly a month ago, I finally had the chance to experience such an autumnal activity!

Foxes Farm Produce in Aldham, Colchester, was the pick.

Parking is just £1 or you can take a bus, stopping at 'Village Hall' in Aldham and then walking 10 minutes from there, just like we did.

At the entrance, you will find some of the staff members, with whom you can have a chat about the patch's story and the work they do there.

The entry to the pumpkin patch is completely free and you can spend as much time there as you want.

You can pick your own pumpkins directly from the field, place them in one of the available wheelbarrows (or you could also make your boyfriend carry you around in one of them :p) and then pay for them with either cash or card at the exit.

You can also visit the corn maze for just £3 and follow the clues to try to find out the answer for the challenge.

You could prepare some food and bring it with you so as to have lunch in the picnic area. Or you can always buy a delicious hot dog or a warm hot chocolate in the onsite catering van.

Before you visit, I recommend checking their social media platforms for daily weather updates: if it rains, the patch is closed.

On the other hand, even if it hasn't rained, the field can be quite muddy and uneven, so bring appropriate footwear!

My first time at a pumpkin patch really was incredible. I had never imagined that so many different types of pumpkins existed!

I totally recommend visiting the patch for a fun autumnal day out: it is perfect for families with children, dates and adventures with friends!
